If the dilation Dk (-2,4), equals (1,-2), the scale factor k, what is the scale factor?

Expert Answers

An illustration of the letter 'A' in a speech bubbles

k*(-2,4)=(-2k,4k)=(1,-2) =>

-2k=1 => k=-1/2

check:

4k=-2=>k=-2/4=-1/2

Thus k=-1/2
