(a) Find the equation for the quadratic that passes through (2,10) and has `2+-sqrt(5)` as roots.

(1) If `2+sqrt(5)` is a root, then `(x-(2+sqrt(5)))` is a factor. Similarly, if `2-sqrt(5)` is a root, then `(x-(2-sqrt(5)))` is a factor. Thus we have:

`f(x)=a(x-2-sqrt(5))(x-2+sqrt(5))=a(x^2-4x-1)`

(2)When x=2, f(x)=10 so:

`a((2)^2-4(2)-1)=10=>a=-2`

**Thus** `f(x)=-2(x^2-4x-1)=-2x^2+8x+2`

(b) Find the equation of the quadratic function that passes through (1,5) and has roots of 1/3 and -4.
