Their first night in the museum is hungry and quiet.  Having hidden out in the bathroom, Claudia and Jamie meet up at the 18th century four-poster bed.  Exhausted and hungry, they fall asleep pretty quickly and wake the next morning at first light. 

The lack of "adventure" this first night...

Their first night in the museum is hungry and quiet.  Having hidden out in the bathroom, Claudia and Jamie meet up at the 18th century four-poster bed.  Exhausted and hungry, they fall asleep pretty quickly and wake the next morning at first light. 

The lack of "adventure" this first night - and the exhaustion and hunger of the two adventurers - foreshadows their eventual return to the "real" world.  Although this seemed like a wonderful idea, and has worked out to begin, it might not be as great as they think.

"But we never even used the radio. How can we face them at home? Without the radio and all. With nothing. We've accomplished nothing."
