Describe some of the characteristics of a work based team including advantages and disadvantages

Work based teams are teams that are brought together or formed to accomplish a specific function or a set of tasks. An example of a work team would be one setup to develop a complex website; this is a multifaceted task that requires a varied set of skills. Such a team may be comprised of a lead programmer, project manager, user interface designer and database programmer. Some of the advantages of work based teams include 

1.)  Support and Cooperation

2.)  Better work quality management

3.)  Sharing of skill-sets and functional knowledge

There can also be some disadvantages to work based teams, some of which may be manifested in the form of:

1.)  Task and work duplication

2.)  Increased risk of interpersonal conflict

3.)  Increased risk of the manifestation of group-think
