Reparations is the act of compensations for abuse, injury or damages inflicted upon an agreived party ( which can be an individual, group or entire nation state). According to the merriam-webster dictionary  reparation is " the act of making amends, offering expiation, or giving satisfaction for a wrong or injury". In the United States and Western history reparations can link to a number of historical occurances. Reparations were war indemnities usually imposed on the loosing side in a war, an example being reparations imposed on Germany after World War 1. Also Germany had to pay reparations to the surviving European Jewish population after Word War 2 due to the Nazi regimes responsibily for the Jewish Holocoust. Another example was the reperations paid to Japanese Americans due to their unconstitutional placement in internment camps by the U.S government during World War 2
