There are many great websites (I listed one below) that wil give you lists of healthy foods that contain fats. Fats are important because they provide a source of energy for the body, they are good for the hormonal system and production of prostaglandins, they help regulate certain vitamins and minerals and they aide the digestion process. If people do not consume the right amounts of fats they may become underweight and this can be dangerous as well. Fat on the body insulates, supports and protects the body.
Here are some foods that healthy and contain fats:
- 1 cup raspberries-1 gram
- 1 cup squash-1 gram
- 1/2 cup quinoa-5 grams
- 1 cup yogurt-4 grams
- 3 oz. salmon-4 grams
- 1 oz. nuts (peanuts)-14 grams
- 1 oz. cottage cheese-10 grams
- 1 cup 1% milk-3 grams
- 1/2 boneless skinless chicken breast-3 grams
- 3 oz. salmon-9 grams
- 1/2 cup snap peas-2 grams
