In a sense, I suppose, the casting off of Cordelia by King Lear and the rewarding of her two evil sisters might be likened to a portion of the plot of Cinderella and thus fall under the umbrella of a Cinderella story. However, I've never agreed with the concept of likening every story to a template, such as "the Cinderella story" template.

One possibility is that both works feature three women and a domineering man, but I have to confess that I don't see many other similarities. Do you have any themes in mind? Have you been given any assignment that you have been asked to complete?  If you can give us some more information about what you are trying to do and why, we may be able to help you.

Ahh alright, well my class is variations on cinderella. I assume that the color purple can be compared to a cinderella story (mistreated girl)..ect.

BUt can king lear be considered a cinderella story as well? if so, how? and how is it similar to that of the color purple in terms of themes...ect

are you starting to understand what i mean? i basically have to compare/contrast the two with each other on themes found in cinderella stories such as a mistreated protagonist who eventually overcomes mistreatment at the end..ect
