I agree to a great extent with the statement offered. In the new dynamics of employer/ employee relationships, there has to be a greater emphasis on coaching and empowering employees, offering them different avenues to showcase their talents. I think that this has to be done on two levels. The first would be that in a globalized setting where businesses are competing with worldwide adversaries for market share, the need for employees to feel empowered enough to offer their own unique spin on how to assist their organizations is imperative. The second level is more pragmatic. Employees who are dismissed are more likely to pursue legal or civil remedies to their predicaments. There has been a rise of former employees engaging in lawsuits against their previous organizations for wrongful termination and seeking a monetary compensation. It would seem to me that a way to avoid this is to hire wisely and ensure that the organizational structure is one where individuals are able to enjoy the benefits of coaching and empowerment, so that all needed and diligent attempts can be undertaken to keep employees in an environment that maximizes their talents.
