The equilibrium constant (or Keq) is defined as the equilibrium constant in a chemical reaction of reactants to make products. As its name implies, the equilibrium indicates which way the reaction is proceeding.  A reaction can favor the creation of products, or reactants, or neither products or reactants.  If Keq is equal to 1, neither is favored and the reaction is at equilibrium.  If Keq is greater than 1, products are favored over reactants; if Keq is less than 1, reactants are favored over products.  Therefore:

a. Keq = 10^5  (>1 so the reaction favors products)

b. Keq = 3.5  (also >1, favoring products)

c.  Keq = .03  (1< so the reaction favors reactants)

d. Keq = 6x10^-4 (<1, reactants)
