In Chapter 4 Claudia says she thinks the angel statue looks like someone in her family - who is it?

Claudia doesn't say exactly whom she thinks the statue looks like. She asks Jamie if he thinks the statue looks like anyone special, and he responds bluntly that "no one (he) knows looks like an angel". Claudia presses him, telling him to "think a minute". She asks him not to consider hair styles or clothes or anything, but to just "think about the face". James still does not see any resemblance, and asks Claudia whom she thinks the statue looks like. Claudia, blushing, is evasive, and says that she "just feel(s) that the statue looks like someone in (their) family". The fact that she blushes makes it appear that possibly, Claudia thinks the statue looks like herself.

In a metaphorical sense, there is in fact something about the statue that resembles Claudia. Claudia perceives the statue as being beautiful and special, qualities which she desperately seeks for herself, and which are the reasons she felt the need to run away. Claudia's experience with the statue helps her to realize that she already possesses the value and uniqueness that she feels she is lacking, and that these attributes are only waiting for her to recognize and appreciate them in order to be expressed (Chapter 4).
