This is a good question and no one has a crystal ball to tell the future. But the Canadian health system is probably one of the best in the world, as long as we keep in mind that nothing is perfect. Currently, the Canadian health system is socialized. The government offers health care to all of its citizens. The five principles of the health systems are: public administration, comprehensiveness, universality, portability, and accessibility.

In view of the socialized health care, the system is sustainable in so far as the government is solvent. In my opinion the Canadian government is the best run and in the best shape in North America. There are three reasons for this. First, Canada is a commodity based country. In a downturn of the economy, a commodity based economy does the best. Second, there are not too many citizens. So, they have numbers on their side. Finally, they strictly monitor their financial sector. So, their banking is in better condition.
