Along these lines, I think Mythbusters is neat.  It's a television show, but the web site also has videos and other interesting facts and information.  For example, can you trick a bloodhounds sense of smell or dodge a bullet?

I will try to give you some starting points.

One of my personal favorites is Discover Magazine's website. They do a monthly feature called "20 Things You Didn't Know About..." which is always filled with fun science facts.

The Library of Congress' website has a science facts page called "Everyday Mysteries" that is always interesting. High Tech Science is another place to check out.
