I feel that Obama gave a strong speech, but it may not matter.  After all, it seems like no elections are ever going to about actual issues.  They will be about playing the blame game and making generalizations and misdirections.

President Obama talked about strengthening the American economy by adding jobs in the manufacuring base. He discussed the need to create dynamic new industries at support high-tech, high-paying jobs and suggested a three-prong plan for making this happen: the green energy movement, a return to industrial manufacturing jobs that are typically outsourced to other countries, and a robust emphasis on jobs training. He also discussed strengthening the middle class through a fair tax system, noting that under e current system, corporations receive many tax breaks when compared to ordinary workers. He emphasized the need to prioritize education and social services in the budget. The President used many anecdotal stories about average American families to make his points.
