No, a doctor can not tell your boyfriend what medications you are currently taking.  Medical privacy laws in the United States are really quite strict and do not allow the disclosure of information like that to anyone unless you have specifically authorized it.

There are some circumstances where medical personnel would be allowed to give information about you to family members or friends.  For instance, if you send your boyfriend to pick up medications for you, the pharmacist might discuss the proper use of the medications with him.

Please look at the links for information about medical privacy from the Department of Health and Human Services.

Recent adoptions of the HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) laws indicated that physicians were required to obtain a patient's signature on a document that advises the patient of his/her rights regarding release of information. Under the laws a physician may not give any medical information about a person over 18 years of age to anyone other than the individual patient without written consent that is signed and witnessed. The only people who may obtain a patient's information are legal guardians and parents of a child or the court appointed guardian of a person who has disabilities that limit his/her ability to make and interpret medical information.
