I assume you mean an introductory speech relating to the introduction of a guest speaker or presenter for a special event or presentation.

It is important to get some significant background on the individual which is relevant to the speakers presentation. When introducing someone it is important to mention honors or accolades as deemed important to the topic of the guest speaker.  Mention the occasion first " We are happy to be here to celebrate...... It is my pleasure to introduce.....".  Tell a short background of accomplishments again relevant to the occasion.  Depending on allotted time be sure to keep remarks brief and to the point as the audience is really there to see the speaker.
