Calypso, holder of pained love.  While Calypso holds Odysseus seven years, she offers him immortality--a gift not readily offered--but Odysseus refuses it.  Then, when Zeus commands her to let Odysseus go, she obeys, and even though she does not want to lose him, she aids his escape by lovingly providing him wind.
