Betty's            \$80(1.00 - 0.25) = \$60

Ming Vase

Annie's            \$40 - \$15 = \$25

Betty's            \$40(1.00 - 0.25) = \$30

Same Discounted Price

P - 15 = P(1.00 - 0.25)

P - 15 =  0.75P

-P         =      -P

-15  =  -0.25P

/-0.25  = /-0.25

60  = P

So, if the original price of the candlestick is \$60, you could purchase the item for the same discounted price at either store.

Annie's   \$60 - \$15 - \$45

Betty's    \$60(1.00 - 0.25) = \$45
