5- x = 2

First we will need to isolate x .

We will subtract 5 from both sides.

==> 5-x -5 = 2- 5

==> -x = -3

Now we will multiply by -1.

==> -(-x) = -(-3)

==>x = 3

11= 2-3y

We need to isolate y.

First we will subtract 2 from both sides.

==> 11-2 = 2-3y -2

==> 9 = -3y

Now we will divide by -3.

==> 9/-3 = -3y/-3

==> -3 = y

==> y= -3.
