Yves Montand was a French actor and singer. He was born an Italian, but his family left Italy because of the rise of the Fascist government of Benito Mussolini in the 1920s. Montand (his actual birth name was Ivo Livi) was born in 1921 and died in 1991.

He is best known in the United States for having starred with Marilyn Monroe in the film Let's Make Love. He was romantically involved with Monroe at one time.
