If you are asking about an award that was given in the book as part of the narrative, I would have to say that I don't think an organization was mentioned as the giver of any of the scholarships won by Caroline or Sara Louise. The money that was given to Caroline that enabled to continue her music studies on the mainland was actually left by Trudy Braxton Wallace when she died, and was more a gift than an award. Caroline did subsequently win a full scholarship to Julliard, a prestigious music school in New York. Sara Louise also received a scholarship, to the University of Maryland.

I am not sure if I am interpreting your question correctly, but if you are asking what organization gives the award that Katherine Paterson's Jacob Have I Loved won in 1981 - the Newbery Award. This award is given each year by the Association for Library Services to Children, which is a division of the American Library Association. The Newbery Award recognizes "the most distinguished children's book published the previous year;" the recipient is chosen by the Children's Librarian Section of the American Library Association.

The award itself is named after John Newbery, who was an eighteenth-century English bookseller. Founded in 1922, the Newbery Award was the first recognition in the world specifically for children's books.
