One interesting passage you could write about is the realization that Peeta and Katniss have when they enter the training grounds for the games.  The way that other districts have trained kids for their whole lives and the way that Katniss and Peeta approach the games as perhaps their certain death provides some interesting passages and viewpoints for an essay.

Another interesting passage might be the moment that Kat is discovered by Peeta after the tracker-jacker attack and she starts to wonder if he is trying to help her and has been planning to do so throughout the whole games.  She is bewildered and trying to make sense of this possibility, lots of good stuff there.

The best passage to write about would no doubt be the part regarding the Death of Rue. Rue was very important to Katniss as she reminded her of her little sister Prim back in District 12. When Rue is killed, Katniss goes through a very depressive period in which she blames herself for the little girl's death and essentially hates herself for what happened. To compensate, the grieves over Rue by singing to her and then covering her in colorful flowers upon her death. This act was also seen as as a sign of rebellion to the Capitol as they believed that by honoring the death of another Tribute in such a way, that she instigated a rebellion in District 11, Rue's home.
