In the book The Hero and the Crown, Part 2, what are some of Luthe's character traits? Why does the author characterize him this way?

Luthe is tall, blond, and very sure of himself.  He is characterized as knowledgable, mysterious, and a little manipulative.  The modern term might be that he is "sketchy".  There is something about him that can't quite be clarified, so although he is charming and comforting to Aerin, readers are wary of him.  This foreshadows his later actions.  Although not an enemy to Aerin, his love for her shows in his need to control the situations.  This is why Aerin can not truly love him - he will not treat her as an equal.
