What is the meaning of this quotation?

There are two parts to this quote.

The first point of this quote is that all people make mistakes and it is wise to realize this and confess this. In other words, only foolish people will not confess that they made a mistake when it is clear that they made a mistake.

The second point of the quote is that when we make mistakes, we should learn from them. Again it is foolish to make a mistake and not learn from it. "Why," you might ask. Those who do not learn from past mistakes or even the past past mistakes of others are doomed to repeat them.

In light of these two points we can summarize the quote by saying:

1. When you make a mistake, say so.

2. Learn from your mistakes.
