I am a big fan of the one-minute resurrection scene in The Passion. I wish there were another one of the same vein that had lots more to it. (The one in Jesus of Nazareth just isn't as good.) Any suggestions?

Both are very nice and oh, so different! As for The Miracle Maker, I had a bit of trouble with suspension of disbelief due to the stop-motion and British accents, but beyond that, I ADORED the interaction between Mary Magdalene and Jesus in the Resurrection scene. Further, my children loved it, too. And the stage performance of "Arise" from The Promise was amazing, too. (You are right, it is on youtube.) I have always had a special place in my heart for movies that revolve around music, ... it's why John Williams is revered in our family. GREAT suggestions, thanks! And I welcome more, too! : )
By the way, ms-charleston-yawp, my four kids under the age of ten LOVE The Miracle Maker, so if their opinion is anything to go by your kids will like it too! It is a cartoon of Jesus as seen from the point of view of the girl who is resurrected by Jesus.
There are tons of versions of the resurrection of Jesus on YouTube. There is also an amazing play that is performed by a local church in my region called "The Promise". It's a live performance, and it has an amazing resurrection scene. It's possible that this also is on YouTube.
Ooooooo! Sounds exciting! I will check that out via amazon/ebay/youtube/etc.! I'm very glad to hear about a new version! (And animated is WONDERFUL, considering I have two children under the age of 10.)
There is a cartoon called "The Miracle Maker" with Ralph Fiennes giving the voice of Jesus that has a great resurrection scene. It is a British produced animation, so I am not too sure if it is available in your neck of the woods, but because it is British, it is obviously very good :-). You might want to see if you can find it. I don't normally like cartoons but this was a very moving depiction of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.
