The given is S = 180n - 360.


Based on your answer, you are trying to isolate n. In that case, you made a single mistake. You transposed 360 (or technically added 360 to both sides to eliminate -360 on the right side), but then you multiplied it on the other side.

S = 180n - 360

S + 360 = 180n - 360 + 360

S + 360 = 180n + 0

S + 360 = 180n

Dividing by 180 to isolate n is also the correct process, as you did (your only mistake was the transposition).

(S + 360)/180 = 180n/180

n = (S + 360)/180 


which is the same as

n = (S/180) + 2
