I am writing an essay on three jobs I am interested in. What would be a good introduction that includes the jobs: IT Manager, Air Force pilot, combat systems officer?

The thesis is: The jobs of IT manager, Air Force pilot, and combat systems officer are all strong careers, but Air Force pilot is the best choice due to its benefits and the researcher’s skill mix.

A good introduction should both grab the attention of the reader and introduce the topic.  You might want to start with something about why you want this type of career.  Then, you can go into how these three jobs are similar to one another.  Finally, you want to finish this paragraph with your thesis statement.  I would caution you that calling these jobs "strong careers" is a weak link between the three.  You might want to look for a stronger connection.  You could say that these three jobs require quick thinking and strong problem solving skills.  You could say these jobs allow a person to work both independently and with a team.  You might say these jobs require a strong leader.  Look back at the "strong careers" portion of your thesis statement and try to be more specific.  Your introduction will be far more clear and your paper more concise if you can narrow your thesis a little.
