Oh cool! Center your story around a cool message. For example, your little bother has been kidnapped and you have three days to get a million dollars to get him back. You get either a phone call or text message telling you this, and then messages every now and then with instructions. Enjoy!

If you're stuck looking for ideas for your story, you might want to check out some of the new websites that are popping up about text messages and autocorrect. You could easily use dramatic irony (where the audience knows something the characters do not) to help create your story line. You might have two characters sending text messages which end up garbled. The audience would know what the message was supposed to say, but your characters would be confused or in conflict over the content.
