What specific parts or aspects of African American culture are likely to survive in America and why? What specific parts or aspects of African American culture are likely to survive in America and why?
I suppose the most obvious aspects would be music and food. I think music will survive because "black" music has become mainstream and there will be no pressure to move away from it. I think that food is a private matter and so there is little pressure on people (from outsiders) to stop eating particular kinds of foods.
I would agree completely with music having long term staying power. In addition, I would add fashion. African American athletes, musicians, and film/ tv stars will continue to be a driving force in the fashion industry for years to come as they are often emulated by the youth of our country and the world.
