Health care is the overall management of health services that can be provided for humans. This includes the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, consultation, prevention and information dissemination to people. Health care is provided by medical people specialized to do certain clinical works such as doctors, nurses, pharmacists and others.
Managers in health care sector are also the one who supervise the people under his/her authority. There may be some variances since health care setting is different from other types of institutional settings. A health care manager should be knowledgeable about the health care the office is offering. He or she should be able to manage plan, direct, command and coordinate medical, clinical and health services. He or she should be able to supervise the entire work throughout the working hours.
The article cited about the characteristic of a manager can also be applied to medical settings. The main emphasis is that health care is focus on providing safety to everyone. Meaning, there should be utmost care because it handles life. Having said that, a manager should be able to talk to people as realistic and as optimistic as possible.
