Happy 60th birthday! (If it's your own that is) That is quite a milestone. It is definitely something that one should be proud of! I think that in a 60th birthday speech one should absolutely include some of the accomplishments and milestones that the individual has made. I don't want to write the speech for you, because I believe it should be uniquely your own, but here are some suggestions in different directions you could take!
- Like I said, include accomplishments. Job positions achieved, married, kids, etc
- A funny story about when you were a kid. Maybe something like a "back in my day" type thing that perhaps kids these days might not understand as well
- Include some good qualities about that person. Kind, caring, etc
- Include how his wife "carried him through it all" or something nice about her and the 27 years that they have been together
Hope this helps!
60th birthday speech for my good confidant
Who said you're sixty? You are just a 20 year old with 40 years of experience.
We have gathered here today to celebrate the 60th birthday of our dear friend, ......
And the packed house just shows how much he means to all of us, friends, family and colleagues. He has had lasting influence on many of our lives, as a friend, mentor, father, husband, son,...the list goes on. I have been fortunate to have known him for these many years and our friendship has blossomed over years. I still remember his college pranks and have observed him closely as he grew to the mature person you all know. He has been a rock and has supported me through thick and thin.
This celebration would be incomplete without the love and support of your wife .... and the three beautiful children you two have raised. .......have been your pillar of support for the last 27 years. As friendly as ever and an expert hand at cooking, she has hosted many of us a number of times. I am glad to have the two of you as my closest friends.
Dear ...., just remember age is just a number and you are only as old as you think. Now is the time to fulfill your long-postponed dreams (a trip to the 7 wonders of world, etc.).
I wish you good health, great company and the companionship of family and friends.
God bless you.
