1.At 0922, an aircfaft was at point Alpha. At 0958,the aircraft was at point Bravo,90 nautical miles from point Alpha.
a. How many minutes did it take to travel the 90 nautical miles between A and B?
b. Therefore at what speed (knots) is the aircraft travelling?
c. At what speed is the aircraft travelling at in nautical miles per minute?
d.At what time will the aircraft reach point Charlie, 35 nautical miles from Bravo?
2.An aircraft is flying at a speed of 180 knots.
a. How many nautical miles does the aircraft cover every minute?
b. How many nautical miles will it travel in 32 minutes?
3.At time 0820,(20 minutes past 8 in the morning) the aircraft in question 2 flying at 180 knots is 24 nautical miles from a repoting point.
a. How long will it take to travel the 24 nautical miles?
b.What time will it reach the reporting point?

From 922 to 958, the plane took 36 minutes to fly from A to B.
Speed = 90 nautical miles in 36 min = 90 nm/36 min = 2.5 nm/min
Or, 2.5 nm x 60 /hr = 150 nm/hr = 150 knots.
To reach point C 35 nm away,
time required = 35 nm / 2.5nm/min = 14 min.
Plane will reach point C at 1012 (12 min past 10 in morning).
2. 180 knots = 180 nm/hr = 180 nm/60 min
= 3 nm/min
In 32min plane will cover 32 min x 3 nm/min
= 96 nautical miles
Time required to travel 24 nm = 24 nm/3nm/min
= 8 min.
The plane will reach desired point at 0828 hours
Hope this helps.
a) Given speed of the air craft = 180 knots
Distance covered in every minute = `180 * (1/60) = 3 nm`
b) Distance covered in 32 min = `180 * (32/60) =96 nm`
a) let B be the final point where the aircraft ends and A be the point at 8:20
the distance between A and B is 24 nm and the speed is 180 knots
time taken to travel from A to B is = (distance between A & B) / (speed)
` = 24/180 = 0.133 hours = 8 min `
To reach the reporting point it need 8 min so it reaches by 8:28
a) the time taken for the flight is = 9: 58- 9:22 = 36 min = 0.6 hours
b) speed = `(distance between A and B)/ (time taken)`
= 90/0.6 = 150 nautical mile per hour
= 150 knot
c) speed in nautical per min = `90 /36` = 2.5 nautical per min
d) as from B to c the distance is 35 nm
so the time take is = (distance from B to C) / (speed of the aircraft )
= 35/ 150 = 0.233 hours = 14 min
so the air craft will reach at c by 10:12
