A number of limitations are imposed on junior flight instructors:
- Training hours: not more than 8 hrs in any given 24 hr period.
- aircraft rating: can not conduct training for a aircraft for which he does not hold pilot certificate and instructor certificate and type rating (if needed)
- Instrument rating: cannot provide training for instrument rating unless he holds instrument rating on his pilot certificate and instructor certificate for appropriate aircraft class and category.

A parachute harness secures the parachute to the jumper's body. The harness also has handles on front right and left side to release and activate the reserve canopy in case the main canopy malfunctions, thus saving the life of the jumper (pilot in case of a military jet).
