cot(x)=1/tan(x) and tan(x)=1/cot(x).

So the left side is cot(x)+tan(x) and the right is tan(x)+cot(x),

which are the same.

By cross multiplication we get,

`1/tanx +1/cotx = (cotx+tanx)/(tanx.cotx) `  = `cotx+tanx` . Since  `tanx = 1/cotx.`
