1) 4.25/8.5 = 2.5/n

2)x=0,1,2,3    y=6,9,12,15

3)12 yards/day= (    )feet/hour

number 1 is a proportion.please solve that proportion.we have to find the n

number 2, we have to find the slope of each line using the points given in the table.

number 3,we have to use a dimensional analysis to find an equal rate.

1) 4.24/8.5 = 2.5/n ; 4.25 N =2.5 times 8.5 ; N = 21.25 divided by 4.25 ; N = 5

2) Slope = 6/0  9/1  12/2  15/3   That means you go over 0 up six; over 1 up 9 and so on.

3) 12yds/1 day = Xfeet /hour

There are three feet in each yard and 24 hours in a day.  12 times 3 is 36 feet.  Divide that by 24 hours and it gives you   1.5 feet per hour.

1) 4.25/8.5 = 2.5/n  cross multiply

4.25n = 21.25

`(4.25n) / 4.25 = 21.25 / 4.25`

n = 5

2)x=0,1,2,3    y=6,9,12,15

6/0, 9/1, 12/2, 15/3

3)12 yards/day= (    )feet/hour

3 ft in 1 yard

12 x 3 = 36

12 yards/day= 36 feet/24 hour

1.5 ft/h

1) 4.25/8.5 = 2.5/n

4.25n= 21.25

n = 5

2) The slopes are 6/0. 9/1. 12/2. 15/3

3) 12 yards/ day = 36/ 24 feet/hour

= 1.5 feet/hr
