XU Slang

Know the slang, know the school. The following is a list of things you really need to know before coming to XU. The more of these words you know, the better off you'll be.

ALL Card

Your student ID card. You need this for everything. Can also function as a USBank ATM card.

Dartanian

The statue of the famous Musketeer outside of the Cintas Center.

The G-Spot

The Gallagher Student Center.

Greenspace

Can be used in reference to any of the patches of grass on the Residental Mall.

The Hill or Up Top

The secondary residential lot, officially called R-2.

ISS

Information Systems and Services. These are the people who get blamed for everyone's computer troubles.

Kro-Ghetto

The Kroger grocery store located in the Norwood Plaza next to campus.

OSC

O‘Connor Sports Center.

The Pit

The basement floor of Brockman Hall.

Res Mall

Short for “Residential Mall,” a stretch of land that is occupied by the major dorms and the Gallagher Student Center.

The ‘Tas or The X-Box

The Cintas Center.

The Woods

Norwood Café.

The X

The large letter X on the ground at the end of the Academic Mall.
