The World According to Garp | Adaptations
The World According to Garp was made into a film in 1982. Steve Tesich wrote the screenplay, George Roy Hill directed, and Robin Williams played the leading role of T. S. Garp. John Irving appears in the film briefly as a wrestling coach. Although a few incidents were changed, the film is faithful to the tone and spirit of the novel, and it was generally well-received by critics and the public.
