Please tell me more about Maxine's (The Woman Warrior) life experiences and just the way she grew up.

My question is to locate similarities and differences in the way I grew up, or percieve the the world, and the way she did. (also compare and contrast Maxine's coming of age to my own). Unfortunately I don't know very much about her life experience.
