Hiyoyoa
Hiyoyoa OceaniaAmong the Wagawaga tribes of Papua, the underworld. At death the soul, arugo, is said to leave the body and journey to hiyoyoa, a realm beneath the sea. The white-skinned and smooth-haired lord of the dead is Tumudurere. In his gardens the arugo work, as visitors from the world of the living testify. Indeed, it is claimed that certain plants were brought back from there.
