Eileithyia

Eileithyia Europe
The Greek goddess of birth, whom the Romans identified with Lucina, one of Juno's attributes. Originally a Minoan dual goddess, with a cave sanctuary near Knossos, Eileithyia played a very subordinate role in divine affairs. She tended to be significant by her absence, as when Hera refused to allow her to attend Leto on the island of Delos. As a result of this delay the birth of Apollo took nine days and nights.
