Cinteotl
Cinteotl AmericaThe Aztec maize divinity. In April people offered to him their blood, dropped upon reeds which they displayed at the doors of their houses. Closely associated with Xochipilli, the flayed god of flowers and lord of souls, Cinteotl was a god whose penitence ensured for mankind a regular supply of food. He was under the protection of the water god Tlaloc, and he had various feminine forms.
