    Dexter was looking in the wrong place to have his dreams fulfilled. He probably could have found happiness with the girl to whom he was briefly engaged, but instead, he focuses all his attention of Judy. Judy is simply incapable of committing herself to any man because she is so focused on herself. Instead of realizing how empty and shallow Judy is, Dexter keeps on thinking that being part of her beautiful but empty world is the only thing that will allow him to be happy.
