Warwick, Richard Neville, Earl of
Warwick, Richard Neville, Earl of (known as ‘the Kingmaker’ Richard Neville Warwick ) ( 1428 – 71 )English statesman. During the Wars of the Roses he fought first on the Yorkist side, helping Edward IV to gain the throne in 1461 . Having lost influence at court he then fought on the Lancastrian side, briefly restoring Henry VI to the throne in 1470 . Warwick was killed at the Battle of Barnet.
