Warbeck, Perkin
Warbeck, Perkin ( 1474 – 99 )Flemish claimant to the English throne. Encouraged by Yorkists in England and on the Continent, he claimed to be Edward IV's son Richard , Duke of York (who had disappeared in 1483 – see Princes in the Tower ), in an attempt to overthrow Henry VII . After a series of attempts to enter the country and begin a revolt he was captured and imprisoned in the Tower of London in 1497 ; he was later executed.
