Vajpayee, Atal Behari ( 1924 – )Indian politician, Prime Minister for 13 days in 1996 and again from 1998 to 2004 as head of a Bharatiya Janata Party-led coalition. During this time India provoked international concern by conducting nuclear weapons tests.
