Taizong
Taizong (or T'ai‐tsung ) ( 596 – 649 )Second Tang Emperor of China ( 627 – 49 ). He was renowned for his military prowess, scholarship, and concern for people. He was a patron of Xuanzang, the Buddhist pilgrim who, in 645, brought back from India Buddhist scriptures, which he translated into Chinese.
