Ramesses III
Ramesses IIIPharaoh of Egypt (ruled c. 1188 – 1156 BC ). Ramesses III successfully repelled three major invasions, two by the Libyans and one by the Sea Peoples . Peace and prosperity followed, but the last years of his reign were marked by social unrest and an assassination attempt. He was the last Egyptian ruler to hold land in Palestine.
