Rajput
Rajput (Sanskrit, ‘son of a king’)The predominantly landowning class, also called Thakurs, living mainly in central and northern India, who claim descent from the Hindu Ksatriya (warrior) caste. Many leading clans are of royal lineage, but others include cultivators of Sudra (menial) caste. Their clans are divided into four lines: Solar, Lunar, Fire, and Snake.
