Olaf II, St
Olaf II, St (or Olaf Haraldsson ) ( c. 995 – 1028 )King of Norway ( 1015 – 28 ). He was converted to Christianity and continued the work of conversion begun by Olaf I but his attempts at reform provoked rebellion and he was killed in a battle with rebel and Danish forces. Canonized as a saint, he is honoured as Norway's national hero.
