Halder, Franz
Halder, Franz ( 1884 – 1972 )German general. As Nazi chief-of-staff from 1938 he was responsible for the planning of the Blitzkrieg campaigns of World War II. He opposed Hitler's decision to strike against Stalingrad in 1942 , and was dismissed. After the July Plot to assassinate Hitler, he was sent to a concentration camp. He was freed in 1945 .
