From personal experience i can say that a lot of the students at WVU are very sociable. There are a number of bars and clubs that are open throughout the week where a lot of students choose to go (18 to enter, 21 to buy/consume alcohol). A lot of the sporting events held here are also a great way to socialize. West Virginia University has a big reputation for being one of the biggest party schools in the nation.

All freshman who do not commute are required to live on campus....

All freshman who do not commute are required to live on campus. Roommates are basically matched on two criteria:1-Do you prefer to get up early or stay up late. 2-Do you regard yourself as messy or tidy.I can say that from my experience i got matched with a really good roommate. Also if you are not happy with your roommate it is not too complicated to get a switch.

There are a lot of great programs here at WVU. A lot of the programs it is most known for are nature oriented, things like forestry. It is also regarded to have one of the best forensic programs in the country.
